Welcome to the Web Page of the Men’s Auxiliary (MAUX) for VFW Post 993. I am Bobby Evans, President of the MUAX at VFW Post 993 in Portsmouth Virginia. We are always searching for prospective members for our MAUX. I believe that we have a lot to offer to our members, VFW Post 993, the Virginia Veterans of Foreign Wars and the military serving our great nation.
A men’s Auxiliary (MAUX) “is a fraternal, patriotic, historical and educational organization whose purpose is to assist the Posts and members of the Veteran of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) and to maintain true allegiance to the Government of the United States of America and fidelity to the Constitution and Laws; to foster true patriotism; to maintain and extend the institution of American freedom and equal rights and justice to all men and women; and to preserve and defend the United States of America from all her enemies whosoever.”
Presently we have 36 members in our MAUX. Membership is limited to: husbands, widowers, fathers, grandfathers, sons, grandsons, brothers and half brothers who attain the status prior to age sixteen of persons who were or are eligible for membership in the VFW. Men eligible for membership in the VFW are not eligible for membership in the MAUX.
Monthly meetings are held on the 1st Tuesday each month at 19::00 hours (7-pm). The MAUX has dinners each month on the 1st. Friday. Other events include patriotic celebrations and events, cook---outs, and charitable fundraisers for our Veterans and their families.
VFW Post 993 has been a perfect parent for our organization. The Post, Ladies Auxiliary and members of our MAUX are what make us another great VFW organization. We are fortunate to have a MAUX that has great participation from its members. It is our pleasure to serve Post 993, the Virginia VFW and the Military of these great United States of America.
